Most people don’t associate Naples, Florida with hunger, homelessness or addiction. When tourists arrive here, they observe beautiful beaches, fine dining, exotic cars and expensive homes in gated communities. Naples is home to approximately 90 golf courses and has been called the golf capital of the world. But if one were to drive into center Naples on one of the back roads, an observant person would notice neighborhoods and apartment buildings that probably won’t make it into the tourism brochure. If you look even deeper into the patches of undeveloped property and woods scattered throughout Naples, you might be surprised to find tents where those experiencing homelessness live – in fact, Naples is home to a place called “Tent City”. But hunger is not a problem limited to those experiencing homelessness – there are many people here in Naples who have suffered financial loss due to circumstances outside their control and are now struggling to feed themselves or their families. Addiction is on the rise since the onset of COVID, many don't realize that addiction is a progressive disease propelled now by isolation during the pandemic. There has been a drastic inscrease in substance abuse and increased mental illness due to the fallout from the pandemic. We seek to get these individuals partnered up with all of the proper tools to get their lives back on track. SWFL now becomming once of the most expensive places to live in the United States has created an increased demand in affordable housing. C3 Cafe is diligently working with local community partners to assist those in need to get to the root of the problem, rebuilding their lives and work towards preventing the increased number of homelessness in SWFL due to the drastic increase in housing prices and inflation.
